NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 25 – yuMobile has rolled out the latest service that brings together social messaging services Facebook chat, G-Talk, Yahoo and MSN on a single platform.

Using Short Messaging Service (SMS) via the short code 3232, subscribers can now keep in touch on the four commercial instant messaging products, without having to log in and out of each one of them.

Available at only Sh9 for daily usage, the service is available to all yuMobile subscribers including those without internet enabled handsets, enables them to get online with friends, initiate chat messages, and enjoy uninterrupted chat sessions on a single gateway.

Announcing the launch of latest service Country Manager Madhur Taneja said; “It is imperative that we offer our customers the latest services to ensure we stay ahead of the game in a highly aggressive telecommunication industry.

Unified messaging simplifies the entire instant messaging communications experience. We often have to launch separate applications to send and receive messages which can be inconveniencing and inefficient but this innovative service is doing away with all that.”

The Facebook Service on the Unified Social Messaging platform offers a wide variety of services that include; getting on-line friends, initiating a chat session, updating status via sms, commenting on friends’ walls as well as getting notifications on activities on Facebook, events and birthdays.

This is the latest addition to the yuMobile product and services range following the recent launch of the emergency airtime credit facility which gives active pre-paid subscribers access to emergency airtime when they need it, which they can then pay later.
