Top level changes at MultiChoice Kenya

NAIROBI, Kenya, May 17 – Stephen Isaboke who has been the MultiChoice Kenya General Manager for the last four years has been promoted to position of Regional Director, East Africa.

In his new role, he will be responsible for Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Southern Sudan, Somali, Sudan, Eritrea and Seychelles.

The appointment of Isaboke to head the 10 East Africa countries reaffirms the importance of the Kenyan market in the region.

Isaboke who is not new to the Kenyan market has over 20 years’ working experience, having previously worked for Shell, Sara Lee and Unilever in various senior management roles.

He holds an MBA in Strategy and a B.Com (Business Administration) both from the University of Nairobi. He has attended several senior leadership courses including the prestigious Harvard Business School Naspers Media Management course, Executive Leadership Development Program at Wits Business School, SA and senior management course at Cranefield University, UK among other personal development courses.

Commenting on his new role, Isaboke said: “It is an enormously exciting challenge as I have huge passion and dedication to the East African region. It is also a very exciting time as the region is undergoing huge economic growth. We as MultiChoice remain committed to the East African region and thus this move ensures increased resources in order to continue to serve our subscribers by upholding the highest standards of customer service quality and delivery”.

Danny Mucira has been appointed as the new General Manager for MultiChoice Kenya.

Mucira joins MultiChoice Kenya from Old Mutual Kenya where he was the Retail Director. Danny has also previously worked as the Head of Sales at the same company.

He has over 13 years professional experience having worked for several multinational companies including Safaricom as Senior Manager, Corporate sales and Kenya Shell Ltd where he held a series of sales-related roles. He has spent the majority of time in his working life in Sales and Marketing roles.

Danny is a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance major) graduate of the University of Nairobi and a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya CPA (K). He has also attended numerous management and leadership courses at leading institutions including INSEAD and Wits Business School.

He joins the business at a time when there are enormously exciting changes in technology and immense growth in the pay TV industry.

While congratulating the pair for their appointment, MultiChoice Kenya Chairman, Waithaka Waihenya urged them to continue informing, educating and entertaining subscribers through the delivery and supporting of world-class television services.

“As a pioneer in Kenya’s pay television service, I hope you will continue to ensure that subscribers are exposed to the best television entertainment on offer even as you continue to seek innovative ways of delivering subscribers the best total offering,” he said.
