NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 21 – The Sarova Stanley was voted as Kenya’s leading hotel at the 17th World Travel Awards ceremony which was held in South Africa.
The World Travel Awards was expressly launched 17 years ago with the aim of encouraging the international travel and tourism industry to embrace the pursuit of excellence. Nominated companies for the World Travel Awards are voted online by travel agents globally and then vetted and inspected by a group of industry experts. Issues such as customer relations, creativity, quality of service, standards, guest satisfaction, product innovation and business acumen are considered.
All votes are internally audited to ensure the validity of each individual vote. David Gachuru, The Sarova Stanley’s General Manager, was ecstatic about the announcement saying: “We at The Sarova Stanley are passionate about our customer service, sharing our rich heritage and our values with our guests. This timely award acts as an assurance to the world that we truly offer cutting edge service delivery.”
From the day it opened its doors in 1902, The Sarova Stanley, has continuously attracted prestigious reviews from highly placed global organizations.
The East African and Rhodesian in 1930 said, "There is probably no other colony in the British Empire where a hotel has been more intimately associated with communal development and welfare than has The Stanley of Nairobi with the modern history and progress of Kenya. That celebrated establishment has been so long a popular rendezvous of the colonists that it has acquired an individuality entirely of its own".
Perhaps that is what attracted the bourgeois of the 1950’s when they launched the Nairobi Stock Exchange at this Hotel. It was no wonder that The Sarova Stanley in conjunction with the Nairobi Stock Exchange decided to launch a live screening of the stock market at The Exchange Bar where guests can sit in a cosy environment as they track their stocks trading live at the Bar.
