Chewing made flavourable

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 29 – Wrigley’s East Africa has increased its PK chewing gum flavours to six with the introduction of the ‘Lemon Ice’ to its range.

Manufactured in Kenya, PK Lemon Ice has a chilling refreshing taste of lemon and menthol flavours, with a hint of sweetness.

“The lingering flavour is perfect when you need the confidence that comes with knowing you have fresh breath,” said a statement from the company.

The new flavour has a distinct lime yellow and green packing with the trademark black, red and white PK logo. It is now available throughout East Africa in kiosk and supermarket retail outlets.

Other favourite flavours launched by Wrigley’s include Liquorice, Cinnamon and Blackcurrant, although the Peppermint and Menthol flavours are more commonly known.

PK is the region’s most established pellet gum and has enjoyed market growth following its pack change and new graphics five years ago.

As part of an education campaign for their target market, Wrigley’s message to young people is that chewing gum helps improve focus, concentration and alertness.

Proven under laboratory conditions, chewing gum improves performance on multi-tasking activities – and especially stress.

In US schools today, some teachers are reversing school policies against chewing gum during tests to increase alertness and concentration among students.
