May 10, 2010 – An SAP software training centre has opened in Nairobi.

The centre being run by Bluekey Software Solutions and ASYST Intelligence will serve Kenya and other East African markets.

Speaking during the launch, Bluekey Managing Director Mala Bhatt said the SAP Education Centre will be training business managers and IT people on the application of SAP business management software.

SAP is a German headquartered world leading provider of business management software suited for small businesses to multinationals, and has presence in more than 120 countries. Bluekey and ASYST Intelligence are resellers of SAP Business One and SAP BusinessObjects respectively, in Africa.

The launch in Nairobi follows the awarding of SAP Certified Training Partner status to both Bluekey and ASYST Intelligence.

“East Africa is a key growth area for SAP and we jointly saw a huge gap in the training market,” says Paul Morgan, managing director of ASYST Intelligence.

“Training is vital to ensure that customers get good return on investment (ROI) on their software. The Centre will also go a long way to enhance skills in Kenya as well as throughout East Africa, as we plan to extend the offering.”

The two South Africa headquartered companies who have their regional offices in Nairobi say the investment was advised by existing demand by companies seeking to achieve maximum return on their software investment.

SAP Business One is a business management software targeted at SMEs for improving business efficiency; while BusinessObjects is a business intelligence and enterprise performance management solution for larger corporates.

“There is great demand for training in Kenya, not only for large companies, but also for individuals determined to obtain as much training and certification as they can to improve their marketability,” said Bhatt.

“The new training facility offers effective SAP-certified training for whoever wants it. In Kenya there is a pressing need for personal training in a classroom-type situation”.

On completing the training and passing exams, delegates will become SAP certified consultants, a qualification that carries international standing.

“On the BusinessObjects side we offer training in Crystal Reports, an end-user product that enables anyone to write reports,” said Morgan.
