NAIROBI, Kenya, May 4 – Local BMW premium cars sales and service agent Bavaria Auto has announced the launch of the new 2010 BMW X1 Sports Activity Vehicle in the local market.
The new BMW X1 model acclaimed as the most agile, flexible and extremely fuel efficient premium car in its class will be exclusively available at the Nairobi based Bavaria Auto Showroom.
Speaking during the launch of the new model, Bavaria Auto Director Dinesh Kotecha explained that the new BMW X1 model had been launched in Kenya as part of an ongoing global launch in specific key markets.
Manufactured in Germany, the new BMW X1 is one of the world’s most environmentally friendly and safety sound car models in the premiums Sports Activity Vehicles class.
“The BMW X1 stands for sheer driving pleasure and like no other vehicle for a spontaneous lifestyle that allows you to enjoy the urban and off road thrill in utmost safety and luxury,” Kotecha said.
And added: “Joy is absolutely BMW and with the BMW X1’s agility, flexibility and extremely efficient engines, it perpetuates the success story of the BMW X5, X6 and X3 family.”
Coinciding with the launch, Bavaria Auto, Kotecha explained had moved to invest more than Sh120 million in further sales and service improvements at its Nairobi centre to enable it handle detailed service functions on all BMW models.
The facility upgrades have also enabled the firm’s workshop and showroom to raise their stature as internationally benchmarked technical facilities with no peer in Sub Sahara Africa offering superior engine diagnostics and repairs.
Feature wise, the new BMW X1 will be available in Kenya in a choice of three powerful engine variants.
Depending on the model variant, the driver benefits from powerful, economical and low-emission petrol and diesel engines, BMW’s intelligent xDrive all-wheel-drive technology, as well as a wide range of BMW EfficientDynamics features including Brake Energy Regeneration, Auto Start Stop, and a gearshift point indicator.
In Kenya, Bavaria Auto has with the launch of the BMW X1 model effectively managed to enhance and expand its BMW models offering. Alongside the BMW X1, Bavaria Auto also sells and services the full range of BMW X5, X6, X3, BMW1, 3, 5 and 7 series.
