Orange Surf and Talk offer hits the market

NAIROBI, Kenya Feb 19- In an effort of capturing the local residential fixed voice and data market, integrated telecoms provider Telkom Kenya has launched a new offer dubbed Surf & Talk.

Styled as a bundled offering on internet and voice, the Surf & Talk offer will be available on Telkom Kenya’s Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) platform, which enables faster data transmission over copper telephone lines than conventional voice band modems.

Commenting on the latest development, Telkom Kenya Head of Corporate Communications Angela Ng’ang’a-Mumo said the firm plans to enhance its residential data delivery solutions as part of a strategic corporate growth plan.

“At Orange, we are very clear that data and fixed line voice services remain the most effective avenues to fuel the growth of Telkom Kenya,” Mrs Ng’ang’a-Mumo said.

She said launching Surf&Talk is geared towards deepening internet access to customers at their convenience on a fast and reliable avenue through copper cable line transmission.

Customers without fixed lines will be accorded a Sh3,395 waiver to connect on the Telkom Kenya fixed line service. Signed up customers will also enjoy up to 120 free minutes depending on the offer taken alongside higher downloads of up to 2MB for the offer available on both prepaid and postpaid plans.

Customer can confirm eligibility of their fixed line by visiting their nearest Orange Shops or calling 121 from Orange and Telkom networks and 020-2222121 from other networks.

Mrs Ng’ang’a-Mumo said customers taking advantage of Surf&Talk offer will received a free Panasonic headset, up to 120 free talk time minutes on the Orange/Telkom network, free installation and multi-WiFi connectivity in their home.
