Alvaro gets passion

NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 11- East African Breweries Limited (EABL) has added another flavour to the range of its premium non-alcoholic drink alvaro.

EABL Marketing Director Debra Mallowah said on Thursday that the launch of alvaro passion fruit signals the company’s successful inroad into the adult carbonated soft drinks category, following the earlier launch of alvaro pear and alvaro pineapple range of malt-based beverages in Kenya in 2008.

“Exactly two years ago, EABL launch Alvaro into the Kenyan market. Consumer reactions greatly exceeded our expectations and within a relatively short period of time alvaro pear and alvaro pineapple emerged as really strong brands in the market,” she said.
“Alvaro has maintained that positive streak and it is against this background of a successful uptake that EABL unveil yet another refreshing variant,” she added.

Alvaro passion fruit which will be available across the country through EABL’s distribution network, is packaged in a 330ml green glass bottle, and will retail at a recommended price of Sh25.

Speaking at the launch in Ruaraka, Ms Mallowah expressed confidence in the new alvaro passion fruit gaining a unique fit within the range of adult soft drinks in the market.  

“As a company we exist to refresh our portfolio by offering our consumers a wide range of world class products to suit their tastes.  In launching alvaro passion fruit today, we are not only diversifying our product portfolio; we are in essence offering a wider range of exciting drinks to fit different taste profiles and consumption patterns”, she said.
