Orange appoints Othoro as marketing head

NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 23 – Telkom Kenya has moved to retain one of the country’s top flight lady marketers on its executive leadership team. 
 
Telkom Kenya through its commercial brand Orange, has formally confirmed the appointment of Anna Othoro as the firm’s Head of Marketing and Strategy with specific responsibilities to spearhead the firm’s market assault in Kenya.
 
With the appointment, Ms Othoro joins a team of top professional ladies currently fueling Telkom Kenya’s growth who include Jane Karuku, Angela Ng’ang’a-Mumo and Mary Kita the respective heads of Support Services, Corporate Communications and Human Resources.
 
Speaking when he confirmed the appointment, Telkom Kenya Chief Executive Officer Mickael Ghossein said Ms Othoro’s appointment was geared at confirming Telkom Kenya’s commitment to deepening the local telecommunications market.
 
“As an organization, we are seriously committed to reaching out to the market with a range of suitable Orange products and services and Anna Othoro will be playing a key role in ensuring this goal is met,” Mr Ghossein said.
 
And added: “with her appointment, Anna joins a team of widely experienced senior managers who jointly share a passion to transform Telkom Kenya to the best integrated communications service provider in Kenya.”
 
Prior to her appointment, Ms Othoro was the immediate former Marketing Director at Essar Telecom Kenya limited where she was instrumental in the launch of the firm’s yu mobile brand.
 
She has also previously worked at Celtel International BV, GSK United Arab Emirates and GSK East Africa.
 
A celebrated marketer in Kenya, Ms Othoro began her commercial services career as a van salesperson and has grown through the ranks to her current position.
