Executive Healthcare Solutions expands Africa operations

NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 8 – Regional medical insurance solutions provider Executive Healthcare Solutions and one of the worlds leading diversified health care benefits company AETNA have announced a commitment to jointly expand their operations in Africa.

The commitment which coincides with the ongoing Executive Healthcare Solutions (EHS) and AETNA’s 10 year partnership anniversary celebrations is expected to facilitate further business development opportunities for the two firms.

The expansion also coincides with the renaming of Goodhealth Worldwide, which Aetna acquired in late 2007. Just like in the global market, all AETNA products and services offered by EHS will now be sold as Aetna Global Benefits (AGB), the organization’s international business segment that supports more than 400,000 members worldwide.

Speaking when he confirmed the continental market expansion, Aetna Global Benefits managing director in Africa and the Middle East Mark Jardin, accompanied by EHS Chief executive officer Aly Maherali said the firm’s official integration of its global business operations expands Aetna’s portfolio of international private medical insurance solutions for expatriates and high-net-worth individuals.

“Now, under the Aetna umbrella, our stakeholders in Africa will benefit from the experience, health care expertise and financial stability of a powerful brand that’s been respected for over 150 years,” Mr Jardin said.

In Africa, AGB and Executive Healthcare Solutions offer the Executive Healthcare Plan, an innovative and comprehensive health plan for regionally-mobile groups and individuals.

On his part, EHS boss Ally Maherali expressed delight at the latent opportunities that the firms association with Aetna will herald on the regional and continental market.

“The unique combination of AGB’s global presence and our local market expertise enables us to continue to offer new, innovative benefits solutions, as well as cutting-edge tools and resources that meet the needs of our diverse customer base in Africa,” said Mr Maherali.

And added: “At EHS, we are excited by the opportunities that operating under the power of the Aetna brand will present for our collaboration in the region.”

In addition to expanding its brand, AGB is also enhancing its global service capabilities, health solutions offerings and provider network. The organisation currently operates from key locations throughout North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
