SMEs thrive on Capital FM programme

NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 16 – Small  and medium sized companies will no longer find it difficult to advertise on mainstream media as a result of an innovative revenue programme being run by Capital FM Radio.

Capital Group General Manager Cyrus Kamau said on Thursday that the New Revenue Solution (NRS) programme has allowed middle level businesses to advertise their products on the station.

“All we are saying is that it shouldn’t matter how big or small your business is for you to be able to advertise in this country,” Mr Kamau intimated.

Without divulging the finer details of exactly how the programme runs, Mr Kamau said that it had grown tremendously within the three year period Capital FM had been running it, with more and more Small and Medium Sized Businesses taking advantage of the opportunity.

Capital FM Direct Sales Manager Tony Gatheca told Capital Business that the programme was initiated with the intention of finding, keeping and growing the company’s clientele base.

“Among other benefits, a participating company enjoys thirty free spots on radio,” Mr Gatheca disclosed.

The two were speaking during the presentation of a Sh300,000 cheque to Beatrice Ndegwa, the winner of a raffle that was run during the presentation of the NRS programme recently.

The programme was carried out between on March 24 and 26, with 400 small and big businesses participating.

Ms Ndegwa, who was elated while receiving her price, said that she would take a colleague with her for an all expense paid trip.

Ms Ndegwa is a Senior Sales Coordinator with the low cost airline Fly540.

“I am happy we as a company have benefited through the programme since we have never advertised on electronic media before. And more so as an individual I get to take a long deserved holiday,” she said.
